Qiao Yan, a celebrated Chinese star, is tired of her glamorous life and considers breaking from her manager and business partner. When her estranged sister suddenly appears in Beijing - just as Qiao Yan becomes the target of anonymous blackmailing - her carefully controlled world begins to fall apart. Haunted by memories of a troubled childhood in rural Yunnan, she must confront her past while navigating a career crisis that threatens both her emotional stability and her sense of identity.

After the film, Kristof Van den Troost will interview author Zhang Yueran, whose novella Sister inspired the screenplay.
